This is a familiar pattern.

My lone 146, a B nib, was the gateway to much wider nibs, after several satisfying years of EF nibs.

I'm glad that you acquired the 146 B from zaddick. With more to enjoy, more happiness with ink and paper.

Thank you for telling us. The Broad Side welcomes all who stop by for cookies, friendly conversation and use of broader nibs for writing.

It's not my first pen with "B" on the nib but those two pens put out a 0.6mm line which to me is Medium. I do have a TWSBI Vac 700r with a 1.1 stub that actually puts down a 1.0mm line but I don't use it. It felt too wide going from F nibs. Then after spending a couple of months writing with just M stubs and a M CI I am really liking M's and getting used to wider nibs. I love the extra shading in the inks. The 146 M is so nice, I am really looking forward to the 146 in B!

After looking at the terrific photo, it's easy to understand why you love such a lovely pen.

Thank you for posting this. I've only recently learned about this finish, so I especially enjoyed the high detail image.

In unused condition, no less? It was a purchase meant for you.

May it provide you with much happy writing.

Thank you, Tom, I am glad that you liked the photo :)

After writing a few pages with the pen, I can say that I love the balance of the Solitaire and the extra weight doesn't bother me. However, I prefer broader nibs and I will probably send it in for a nib exchange. I think I will go for a BB.

Your feelings strike a responsive chord in my heart.

I'm delighted that the balance is optimal and it writes well for you.

I'm beyond pleased that you're considering a BB nib.

That's what I'd have done.

In any case, many thanks for letting us know how it suits you.

I got this today to celebrate my birthday :) It is an 8-piece collector's box/pen case that is both sturdy and light to use when traveling.

Happy birthday Pravda! Your collector's case is elegant--I must try to find one of those.
