I think he leaves a large bowl of ink in a field under a giant cardboard box held up by a stick tied to a long string and just waits patiently in the bushes for them to wander in for a drink before springing the trap!

Thank you all.

CS388, i don´t think it´s that rare.

Mitto, Living in Denmark is an advantage when looking for danish MBs, combined with a little luck.

Zaddick, good idea, it might be worth a try.

I just purchased a Loiminchay Xingshu Script Calligraphy II 28-A Maki-e fountain pen that is arriving in the mail today. I'm so impatient, I can't wait to hold it in my hands.

When it arrives, please let us know how it writes.

Will you use a traditional black ink, or something else?

I'm surprised to see this in the Montblanc Forum.

Thank you for the images.

Two MB bought at the San Francisco pen show today. One fairly common and one pretty rare. Photos to follow.

MB had a corporate presence at the show this year and it looks like they were selling quite a few items.

Montblanc Meisterstück 149 with an OBB nib. It´s now prisoned by my wife for three weeks until my birthday arrives.

What a Happy Birthday in September!

That's terrific gift!

May your pen rest well in the coming weeks until ‘Opening Day’.

I've started collecting MB sub-brands. So far I have two Stoffhaas models, one Monte Rosa, and now this Skribent made by MB that is essentially identical to the 214 (as featured in the MB book on Danish-produced pens):

Yes, I am sometimes. OK, here are the pens, now that I finished my SF pen show report. I'll just do the MB pens here.

First, the not so rare Dumas.

I have another Dumas with a B nib, but I like the pen and have had multiples before. This one had an interesting grind on the nib. Someone did a fairly sheer cut on the top of the nib, pretty much left the bottom alone, and still somehow ended up with a medium Italic. Check it out...

The rare MB is one I had only seen once or twice before. It is a 24 demo. I speculate it was either a salesman's demo (given the radical switch from the Meisterstuck line it might make sense to use the pen as a tool to talk about the changes) or it was a factory demo for testing that snuck out. I am not sure. Maybe there is a more boring explination or a small batch was made. If anyone knows, please share the info.

The pen is in good shape, with some scuff marks and scratches by no fractures I could see. I have not decided if I will use it or keep it as a display piece.
