I am keenly awaiting delivery of a 'new old stock' William Faulkner Writers Edition fountain pen with a medium nib. I have always admired this pen, and hope it will play nicely with my F Scott Fitzgerald, GB Shaw and Mann fountain pens. I just need to decide what ink to use in it...perhaps MB Toffee Brown?

I bought a used, but near mint, Faulkner a few years ago -- lovely pen -- and I paired it with the Toffee Brown. Perfect combination. Enjoy!

I have a Yellow Gold trimmed O3B 149 on the way, also inspired by Tom Kellie. I've been into broader nibs for a while, and a Pilot Custom 74 Cosu is my current broadest. Really excited to see what the Oblique nib does to my writing.

Toll, many thanks for your reply, my Faulkner arrived this morning. What a beautiful pen, and I am sure that Toffee Brown ink will suit it well!

This is my order received last week:

The Royal Blue is not from this order, I received it as a gift from my local reseller. The Barbados Blue ballpoint refill is more green than turquoise...

I'm currently using the Royal Blue in my 149 and foreseen to try the Shakespeare in my Leonardo and the JFK in my JFK and the Miles Davis in my future Miles Davis when my reseller will receive it.

Just received a beautiful green striated 146 with an OBB nib. There's a little brown discoloration on the barrel, but otherwise it's perfect. Photos later.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Congratulations. Those are beautiful pens. I think thr nib sounds fantastic. I look forward to a writing sample. Remember, these celluloid pens will eventually become dust so be sure to use it!

OK, this is not technically an MB, but it is at least a close cousin. It just came in the post today from another member here who was kind enough to remember my fondness for Brad's work.

My latest is a 146 fluted (or lined) sterling Solitaire. It seems to be from 1989-1990 (brass piston threads, 14k two-tone nib, non-striated grey window, W. Germany on clip--and no serial number).

Can anyone tell me when MB started and stopped making this model?

Thanks,

Daniel
