Took this home with me today. I decided to pass on the 888 version (although it is soooo nice) to make room for other items further down the year

No signs of the Borghese ink. But they did show me on the system The Beatles (blue), SAdE (dark bordeaux), UNICEF (light blue).

Also exciting news, a new line of inks released. They are 3x price of a regular bottle for 50 ML and they're called Montblanc Elixir. Three colors: Pourpre, Bleu, Violette. They're made for Artisan pens and have higher standard formulations than the regular editions. The bottles are gorgeous! Square crystals with a flat top with huge white star.

Dark Bordeaux sounds intriguing, as does Poupre. I've never bee a fan of blue. Watches, shirts, inks or jeans.

Interesting pen...

Congratulations on your new pen Pravda. I hope it brings you much joy.

And thank you for sharing the ink info. Sounds like trouble for me if the bottles are nice.

I finally got my Shakespeare Writer Edition in a medium nib. Inked and writing with it. It is a beautiful pen and a great writing pen. Have written several letters on Tome River paper and it's just effortless. I am glad I finally got one of the last. Thanks to Dromgoole's in Houston.

Got it yesterday...

A 149 from the mid 90s which appear to be all original and in perfect order. I don't understand if the nib is BB or BBB. Could you guys help?

Here some pics.

APM1 it looks like a B to me, from the far away shot. Looks a bit narrow for BB.

MB stopped making BBB in the early to mid 1970s as far as I can tell so it would not be that wide.

Tanks Zaddick. It looks huge on paper, i believe is double broad. Do you have a picture of a BB on a 149 for compare?

Let me see if I can find one.

Also remember ink and paper can significantly affect the line width put down.

Whatever the width, I hope you are enjoying it. I love wide nibs on my 149s.

Hello Pravda,

Does the 888 edition has already been presented by MB? Because I don't find info or photo of it. I have a booklet about the 4810 version you bought but no info on the 888. I'm curious to see some photo of it even if I won't buy it as I bought the 888 of Steinway and my wallet is empty now :)

I believe you can find this information on the LCDC website.

It is released and available for sale, so I believe that showing a picture here should be alright I guess.

I'll be looking forward to learning more about these inks.
