Aside from several Aterlier Prive pieces that are meant to have you scratch your head, either in bewilderment or in awe, some regular (or not so limited) editions that are very reasonably priced made me go 'oooooh' when handling them.

 

Surprised because despite having been privy to a leak from Hamburg in January that already included a lot more than has been mentioned here, I still realized that I didn't know the half of it! They've been busy

 

Anyway, don't really mean to start another unrecommended thread, but suffice to say this thread is going to see really cool stuff I suspect in the months to come.

Are you in a position to say when us mere mortals will see the details of the less esoteric ones? Release dates and such?

Finally found one. Arrived yesterday. Meisterstuck 90 Years Special Edition Solitaire classique. Guilloché barrel, rose gold accents, and mother of pearl star.

I also picked up this wonderful Indigo Blue Sartorial Hard Shell pouch form my boutique. They didn't have any on display so I asked them to look it up for me in their computer. They had them in the box in the back of the store from their shipment from Germany earlier today. They had not even opened it yet or checked in the items. I was able to pick out any color I wanted. They only had one of each color. Got lucky!

 

The fit is really snug on my Ultra Black. Too tight for a 149. There is a soft padding inside the case that really ensures a stable pouch. It looks great. I'm happy with the purchase. I do believe that they are designed for the Classique line. Not sure if over time it will loosen up for my 146. The LeGrand fits, but it is tight. I still love the case either way. Great texture. Really lovely.

Thank you dubhe. I have the ballpoint and sold off my rollerball version. Have been looking for the fountain pen version for a few years. So happy to have one in my collection. It is a standout.

Thank you for letting me know it wears in over time. I was concerned that the finish on the Ultra Black would get rubbed away by using this case. Now I know to not worry about it.

The finish on the Ultra Black has held up very well. Granted, I take good care of the 146, but the finish hasn't worn off or shown any signs of breaking down even after months of nearly daily use and sliding the 146 in and out of the case. I'm very happy with the Ultra Black and Sartorial single pen case.

A lowball gamble that I won on the 'bay arrived today... turned out to be a late 70's black 146 with a mono B nib (I think), clear ink window, ebonite feed. It cleaned up quite well. The tarnish on the nib wiped off on the first light touch of the polish cloth. I was worried at first that the dried ink inside might be too crusty to free up the piston so I plopped it in a glass of water and the nib immediately gave up a lot of blue ink. Apparently it hadn't sat "forever" making blue cement. So I gently applied a little more twist and the piston moved! Yay! After lots of soaking and flushing I have a pretty smooth functioning pen. Tomorrow, time available, I'll ink it up and maybe get a picture or two.

 

Nobody would object to "just another black pen" picture would they?

My latest entry: POA Joseph II in the 888 edition. Beautiful color, very heavy but balanced and with a nice MOP on top.

When I first saw this pen back in 2012 I was interested but not immediately amazed - in the meantime, also with respect to recent POA releases, I thought again and again of this pen. When I handled it some weeks ago I was amazed and now it's here

Wow, amazingly gorgeous pen. Its a good kind of jealousy. I am glad someone who enjoys the pen owns it... I know a few too many "collectors" who have the pens on a place where they are not loved, used or appreciated.
