Sagar, your contribution is so fluid and filled with bounce that it inspired me to do a little italic in preparation for a workshop tomorrow at a pen show in Raleigh.

Wow - this thread is getting better and better.

I have been following along but am a bit behind on the writing. Here are a few that are done although there is still plenty of room for improvement:

All right, here are the next four weeks. I've been working with gouache recently, although I'v been using the colors for other projects, and, I confess, in some cases just mixing together everything I've got left from that to create the muddy colors you see in the middle two of these.

Clairefontaine Triomphe paper.

The script is shamelessly copied from “Foundations of Calligraphy” book. It is inspired by Carolingian Minuscule, but modernized to make it easily readable for people without palaeography training.

So many beautiful scripts in previous posts...

This week's quote is from an American poet:

Listen, are you breathing just a little, and calling it a life?

Thanks, Sagar! I appreciate your kind words.

I have now tried 3 of Franklin-Christoph's inks. I am very pleased with them. They are well-behaved in every pen I have loaded them so far, and the colors are tasteful, IMO.

Hi guys!

Sorry to dilute your conversation. I'm newbie in write and started to learn the fine write only at the end of last year.

My humble steps.

Hi, Andrew! Glad to have you with us. The topic of this thread is "Quote of the week," (hence QOTW) where people post a quote each week (I'm not entirely sure how it gets decided who picks the quote) and we all contribute our renditions of them, in whatever script and design we please. It may look like a mishmash of random quotes because a few of us are behind and post several old weeks at once, while others are up to date, but there is a method behind it all. By all means, take a look at some of the old quotes and use them to show us more of your exquisite fine writing!

It's all in the very first post that started the thread: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/316922-qotw-2017/?p=3757674

Specifically, the first to post a rendition of this week's quote gets to set the quote for next week.

the cat half awake

and half sleeping on the book

"Quantum Mechanics"

(inspired by a German haiku by Tony Böhle)

Andrew, gorgeous work! The flourishes and shapes of the majuscule O, C, and L are especially impressive. Moderator Salman Khattak started this brilliant Quote of the Week thread, and we are so glad to have you here!
