If you follow my blog - https://quinkandbleach.wordpress.com - you'll know that I'm on a mission to find ways of utilising fountain pen inks for other purposes other than just handwriting. Below are four artworks achieved through utilising the ink's natural chromatic qualities and trusting to serendipity to deliver a visual spectacle:

Very nice!

These look a lot smaller scale than your usual? :)

Thanks. They're on the usual 140mm x 140mm test sheet. I thinks it's because I've photographed them framed that they appear smaller within the website pixel limits.

Very nice. You've mastered the ink without mastering it.

And that's the beauty of it! I really feel that the project is now delivering what I need to get fountain pen inks recognised as a proper creative medium. We have all these gorgeous writing fluids and 99.9% of the population don't even realise they exist! Not for long!

Hello NickiStew,

BEAUTIFUL. I checked out your blog and I love "Rain Over Ramgate" and the "Homage to Leunig." Just beautiful work there; I've always loved the look of watercolors, but I've been told its one of the hardest mediums to master. Congratulations. :)

Looking great!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Yup!

In that case, I wish you'd put up a video on YouTube or something and show us how you did "Rain Over Ramgate." That one is just beautiful. If I could do that, I'd decorate my home and office with them. :)

I've thought about taking up some kind of art, (painting or calligraphy or something along those lines), to help me relax from my high pressure job.

Hi Anthony. I do have intentions to post some demo videos in the future, but like you and many others, the pressurised day job comes first. Thanks for your kind words. I'm delighted that you enjoy what I do. I'm hoping that 2017 is going to be the start of something special for fountain pen ink art. N
