Woah #8 seems quite interesting! I wonder if it's a different formulation from their normal #10 IG Blue-black. :o

Quite love that ink so I'll probably get myself the new one if it's different. Sweet! =D

If anyone has used the new inks, can they please tell me how the wetness and lubrication measures up with the standard #23 bekakt haags? I used #15, and a few others and found them rather dry. So I'm a bit skeptical about ordering akkerman inks again.

#23 was perfect with nice flow and lubrication.

My last order spent over a week in NY & then another week in Chicago. The fastest part was from Akkerman's to NY.

  • 2 weeks later...

My set arrived today. Glad the waiting is over. Now I have to decide which 1 to use 1st. Hoping to see some reviews soon.

So, will we see reviews?

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I e-mailed Vanness & this set is a Limited Edition. Vanness is quickly selling out but are expecting another order. They said that Akkerman had run out of bottles & was waiting for more. I wouldn't wait too long if you want some & I would buy at least 1 to get the bottle.

Any clue if they're going to have samples? I hate to spend that much on ink (cool bottle or not) without having a clue as to whether or not I'm going to like it.

It would certainly be easy to ask them if they would sell you a sample of the ink; it never hurts to ask.

I seriously doubt that is their plan with these 12 bottles of ink, since 6 of the 12 bottles are already "sold out." (The other Akkeman, regular ink colors offer the choice of bottle or 4 oz sample when you "click on them," these only show a price for a bottle.) I am glad I ordered the ones I did, since one of them is among the colors that are gone.

Hmm. Just saw them on Akkerman's website -- tending towards the brick-red / crimson / scarlet (for a stub nib). Any experience with these colours?

At the end went for Karmozijn (opaque dark red), and the Steen-rood looks somewhat coppery.

The Dutch Masters inks are now available here at Vanness Pens, FWI.

Just checked Vanness this morning, and all but two are already sold out. You folks are quick!

Hello,

I want to purchase the 3 reds, 3 blues (cerulean, Kobaltblauw, and stormachtig blauw), Ruisdaels stormachtig blauw and Lievens Kardinaal Paars from the Dutch Masters collection. Can someone tell me whether their flow is reasonable enough to use in finer nibs? Especially Japanese fine which I use 95% of the time.

I would also appreciate some colour samples too since swabs supplied by akkerman seem oversaturated. Vanness had more realistic writing samples for standard range, but they haven't put up similar writing samples for the Dutch masters collection.

Thank you.

At Vanness, the Dutch Masters are all sold out.

I am back to checking Vanness's site to see if & when the Akkerman Dutch masters return. I hope they are around long enough for everyone that wants the new bottle to get one.
