Yes, don't try to rub the pen clean. It is such a bad idea...

 

Same with the detergents. You will degrease the pen eventhough some form of lubrication should have stayed in.

 

Personally, I think bad pens write bad and good inks flow good. I still haven't figured out why inks flow slower when the pen gets warm in your hand. Does it make the air less soluble in the ink slowing down the air supply? I need some answers.
