Pelikan M400 Old Style Tortoise Brown, Piston Destroyed!

I hav a pelikan MM400 torquoise fountain pen "Old style" (1980's-1990's i guess) that needs to be repaired. I tried to twist off d piston cap since the stopper inside d barrel got stuck. In short, i broke d piston mechanism inside bummer. Some of the destroyed parts even got stuck inside the barrel. If not for the piston, the pen is in pristine condition, but I guess the most practical way to fix it is to replace the barrel. Where could I purchase old style tortoise barrels? Here are some photos of the destroyed beauty.

 

Any advice or suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Bad luck ...

If you are not familiar with pen restoration, I suggess you don't try to repair the pen yourself.

Otherwise, you will have to unscrew the nib, heat the body of the pen and then knock off (from the nib side) the piston (or that's left inside...) : they are friction fit on this model.

This is not an easy task to do with a unbroken piston, so I guess it will be much more difficult in your case ...

Tried the heating, didn't worked for me. Maybe I was just too impatient. Ended up with this. Thanks. Definitely interested with a spare barrel

Insert a wooden dowel through the nib end of the pen, and drive the piston sleeve out with a whack on the end of the dowel.

 

Find a used M200 on eBay for spare parts, and remove the complete piston assembly in the same manner.

 

Swap the piston knob, so you have the dark brown piece on the M200 piston assembly.

 

Reassemble.
