What Pen Are You Waiting For In The Mail 2017

My pen purchases are very humble (for now :) ) because I want to try different brands and models.

On the way I have a Wing Sung 3003 and a 3008, bought a month ago so they should arrive some time at the end of this month. I am still shocked by how inexpensive this brand's piston fillers are. To my mind piston fillers have always been very high-end pens. I'll see how the quality of these pens is with my own eyes.

A Lanbitou 3059 bought two-three weeks ago. I'm still boggling at the price of this pen. 2€ for a screw cap, demonstrator, piston filler. How. There must a catch. Maybe the nib is wider than the F it says or it's horribly scratchy, I'll see.

At the beginning of this month I (finally) bought a Pilot Kakuno demonstrator. I've been drooling over this pen since it came out this summer but I waited until the initial ridiculous prices (22-25€) calmed down. Snatched one for 12€. This will be my first Pilot fountain pen, I'm a bit excited about this one.

1941 Esterbrook that's been fitted with a Zebra G Comic Nib... the cap has been modified inside to accommodate and seller states he's ground/polished the nib to a point that he's not getting railroad tracks or scratching even on copy paper. I'm planning on putting it into my rotation for birthday letters I write at the beginning of each month and then also for addressing Christmas card envelopes (time to get started). So I'll have to tune in sure and quickly figure out what she likes to drink ...

The seller said he really thought the Thornton's he had it it was too wet. I wouldn't have even dreamt of running Thorntons in it though and will probably start first with some Montblanc or Noodlers Eel.

Thoughts on ink or hints on Zebra G Comic would be appreciated.

Semper Fidelis, Shannon

I run Pelikan 4001 with my Zebra G nib and have no problems with it. Your seller is an impressive grinder for having the Zebra G not catching on the upstroke on cheap copy paper. You need a very light hand but a good amount of skill to do that. I suggest practicing with very good paper first, since catching on cheap paper can be very frustrating, especially at the beginning. Good luck!

Ordered a few Jinhao 993, 992 and Yiren 359 as backup pens and to introduce my nieces to fountain pens. Hopefully I'll lure them in.

Waiting for Jinhao x750, a purple and a red preppy, a green and a blue Petit 1, Hero 359, and finally a Jinhao 599A. The 359 and 599A are only a buck a pop including shipping, let see what they can offer after a few months when they arrive.

My mother is using the Hero/Yiren 359 and we both agree that it's a surprisingly wet and smooth writer for its price. Although the fine is more of a medium than I would like.

Wasn't waiting for this in the mail; in fact, I had no idea it was coming. Turns out it hitched a ride from Italy in the suitcase of one of my colleagues (second pen he's bought me in the last two months!):

Im waiting for 17 pens to arrive right now (Ive promised myself to stop buying until all previous purchases arrives but I cant control myself :P).

My advantage is that Im reaaaally really cheap: almost all cheap Chinese ones.

One Noodler’s, one Monteverde, 2 cheap FPR and the rest Chinese stuff.

(my most expensive pen until now was a TWSBI ECO).

EDIT: some of these pens will become gifts, I do not plan to keep all of them.

Waiting for a new Montblanc Boheme Bleu fountain pen with medium nib.... I expect it will make a nice pocket pen. Not that my MB 146's don't fit fine in my pocket ;)

I've been looking at the Sailor Precious Wood series for a long time. Finally, today, I bought one; Karin (quince).

I really hope I don't like it... because if I do, I don't think I'm going to be able to resist the tagayasan!

Too many pens, too little time!
