Very nice. Congrats!

Thanks! It is a bit lovely!

Nice looking pen...and writing. :)

Thanks, but that was a minute quickie to test it out a bit. ;) Since then I've found it is actually much nicer, and capable of some very precise calligraphic feats!

A Waterman 52?

Close! It's a 12 PSF, so from 1915/'16, I think (Watermans started making lever fillers in 1915, I think, and they changed their numbering system in 1917, so the 12 PSF became a 52 in that year, but mine is clearly imprinted with '12PSF'.)

Woaaaah! That is some serious flex going on.

Congratulations!

Without stressing it it seems to reach 2.5mm. I'm not going to mess about with that kind of line, though. That's what dip pens are for! It seems perfectly happy at around 1.8-2, though. That pic is mostly about 1.6 which is plenty nice enough. There're all the stats... but of course, it's so gorgeous and such a pleasure to use, the numbers don't really mean anything when it's in your hand.

Now I know why they're called wet noodles, though. It really drinks ink!

A custom made pink pen from a maker on Etsy.

I just ordered a Lamy Aion EF today... looking forward to it very much since I already use my Safari's quite a bit for daily use/sermon notes/ in planner. Taking a Lamy EF to a brown shopping bag for a few minutes seems to turn my nib pressure into something like moving across glass when it comes to crappy post-it notes and my proverbial 5"x7" index card with my things to do list. I use a wet ink like a Lamy, Thornton's, or Meisterstuck for the daily and a quicker Noodlers Heart of Darkness or Eel Bulletproof for my bible. I'm going to move to using a TWSBI Classic on the bible though if the Aion isn't as heavy as I think it's to be in its new aluminium abode. The Safari is just too light for making crisp print in awkward angles on the onion skin thickness paper of my good study bible.

Anyone have their hands on one yet?

I shouldn't have got another pen after buying a different pen only a week ago...but I couldn't resist.

I had been looking for Stipula Paparazzi in clear blue color, and found it....so it is on the way :)

Dream, take one step at a time and achieve. :)

I am waiting for another Jinhao X450 fountain pen. I continue "bagging" this pen, on eBay, for under $1, shipping free. This one was 86¢ . I have a sturdy carton, with fourteen X450 pens, which is the capacity of the box. I have arranged to donate several of these pens to Heritage Girls, to make room for the awaited pen. I always have one of these inked and in use. It is a very good pen, that is great for writing, keeping, and sharing. I was, actually , able to stop eating potato chips and pistachio nuts. Jinhao X450s might be more difficult.

What's the nib? I had Tanzanite in an M400 with an EF nib awhile back and it was a great combo!

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

After being quiet for a while, I had a little burst of activity. On their way are three quite different pens.

A Waterman 0552 1/2V will round out a little set of 1/2V pens, the other two being a silver (452) and BHR (52).

Much younger is a Classique from S T Dupont. This one is in a red lacquer and is what I believe to be series 2 with the shorter section, filling a bit of the gap between my series 1 (if that it is) and Montparnasse(s) (sorry, Gatsby). The seller appears entirely reputable so I am not expecting a fake. We shall see.

Not the most expensive purchase here but perhaps the most valuable, a red Ancora Perla bought on ebay locally. Price was constrained by the fact it had, as the seller fully disclosed, a repaired break in the barrel just above the upper silver band (desk-to-floor problem). I am confident from photos and discussion that this will be pretty much imperceptible. The fact I do not post pens even as short as the Perla will keep strain off the repair, and I expect another lovely writer.

Grats! You do realize "first" means just that? ;)

After being quiet for a while, I had a little burst of activity.

After my M250 Levenger, I said "that's it". That was June 9th and I made it almost 4 months. Broke down and ordered a M405 EF Stresemann today. Then had to order a bottle of Take-sumi to go with it.

Platinum #3776 Century. Almost bought one as my first fountain pen nearly three years ago but went for a different pen instead. Could never really forget about the pen, so I finally ordered one a few days ago.

I received this one about two weeks ago and I realized I may have made a mistake; I don't need any more pens. It writes quite nicely and looks beautiful, but there's just no point in owning so many pens...

Anyway, I just ordered another Platinum #3776 Century, this time Chartres Blue with a fine nib. Can't wait to have it in my hands.

1941 Esterbrook that's been fitted with a Zebra G Comic Nib... the cap has been modified inside to accommodate and seller states he's ground/polished the nib to a point that he's not getting railroad tracks or scratching even on copy paper. I'm planning on putting it into my rotation for birthday letters I write at the beginning of each month and then also for addressing Christmas card envelopes (time to get started). So I'll have to tune in sure and quickly figure out what she likes to drink ...

The seller said he really thought the Thornton's he had it it was too wet. I wouldn't have even dreamt of running Thorntons in it though and will probably start first with some Montblanc or Noodlers Eel.

Thoughts on ink or hints on Zebra G Comic would be appreciated.
