And here are a couple of photos with my other Sailors showing how large the pen really is:

Also, great news: very thankfully one of my distant neighbours dropped the mis-delivered package on my doorstep yesterday! All is well again!!

Yes, I have 2 black M150s coming, a medium and a fine - sorry if it sounded confusing.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

A Sheaffer Legacy "fantasy" - body made by Jim Rouse of Franklin Christoph. I don't know how many were made in this specific material except to say that this is the only one I've ever seen for sale.

Where can you find others on sale

Waiting on this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/122335756532 Just got the tracking info email. Best offer accepted (although I notice that eBay still lists it at full price :glare:, which I personally consider slightly deceptive...).

Why did I go for it? Because I needed something fun and frivolous after the last week and a half, which was mostly frustrating and horrible. Made a succession of offers and the seller accepted the third one. Possibly because I was persistent (okay, annoying...). And possibly because I was the ONLY one watching the listing....

Oh, and before anyone asks? Yes -- I *am* going to open the package and use the pen (although I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with a 30+ year old cartridge of Quink Washable Blue  -- assuming it's even still viable). Because I am NOT a c-worder. I mean, it's a freaking VECTOR! You want to to save this for "posterity"? Shoulda bought it your own darned self.... :P B) :sm_cat: [Man, we really need a smiley .gif that blows raspberries -- these three (combined!) do not convey quite the same sentiment as one good Bronx cheer....]

Finally adding a deep red Custom 74 and charcoal Safari to my collection!

...The history, culture and sophistication; the rich, aesthetic beauty; the indulgent, ritualistic sensations of unscrewing the cap and filling from a bottle of ink; the ambient scratch of the ink-stained nib on fine paper; A noble instrument, descendant from a line of ever-refined tools, and the luster of writing,
with a charge from over several millennia of continuing the art of recording man's life.

Wow, those are great, Ruth! Congratulations!

Well it's actually just the one pen, AFAIK. I don't know which one it's going to be (I got the last, apparently, and it looked as if the blocks of color were somewhat different between the two pens -- but that might just be that one shifted/rotated in the blister pack). Frankly, I would have paid the full price because it was pretty cheap (I've paid more for Vectors). But I figured, hey, why not offer a little less and see what the guy says. Especially since I have no clue how viable that cartridge is (and there wasn't a converter). So he turned down the first two offers, but accepted the third one. And frankly, I didn't low-ball the guy that much even with the first offer (which was less than a dollar below the asking price).

The most annoying part is that I never got an official notification from eBay to that the first offer had been rejected (it's supposed to be 48 hours). About a day later I went online and had to actually look at the listing to see that (there was a banner across the top of the page. And I had a [expletive deleted] time trying to fight my way through "Customer Service" to get a phone number. The chick I talked to didn't know why I hadn't been. Or why the IT department didn't think that might be an issue for them to consider (or why they don't make the eBay phone number easier to find). She's -- in theory -- supposed to call me back with an answer. So I put in the second (slightly higher) offer and when I got the "rate this page" they got the worst rating. And I said "This is not a complaint against the seller -- it is a complaint against EBAY!" So of course the same thing happened when the second offer was also rejected. Thought about filing another complaint about IT but didn't get around to it. Made the 3rd offer and it was accepted. THAT time they did send me email....

If anyone would like eBay's phone number, because they've had similar issues (or other issues with eBay itself, rather than with a transaction) PM me. I saved it on a stickie on my laptop.... :(

Well I got the tracking # this AM, and have signed up to get email updates (current status is that the pen has left Trenton, NJ, with an ETA of February 16 (so sadly, probably after the SCN meeting this week so I can show it off, even if I don't get a chance to flush it out before inking it).
