A friend of mine has this pen. We were trying to figure out what it is and how much it may be worth. Any help would be appreciated.

It's never been used, has the original refills (dried out now).

It's a Cartier "Louis Cartier" that retailed for around $1k. You can check ebay sold listings to see what an approximate street value is.

 

Keep in mind that there are quite a few counterfeit Cartier pens in the market so you might want to have it authenticated before attempting to sell it.

I had a counterfeit Dupont. It had all sorts of paper work with it.....including a little pamphlet with other items the 'company' sold.

As if anyone would keep that piece of paper....which none would.

 

E-mail Cartier with the number...to see if there is only one, or if others have counterfeits with the same number.

In reference to P. T. Barnum; to advise for free is foolish, ........busybodies are ill liked by both factions.

Ransom Bucket cost me many of my pictures taken by a poor camera that was finally tossed. Luckily, the Chicken Scratch pictures also vanished.

The cheapest lessons are from those who learned expensive lessons. Ignorance is best for learning expensive lessons.
