I'd say Thief's Red is more like a true red, while Cherry leans a bit to the purple side. Flame Red is quite orange.

Try it in a broader nib so you get the darker end of it. I'm loving it in a 3B Pelikan.

This one has been on my radar. Even though I don't use dark reds a lot (I thought I had gotten in on a local pen club group buy to get IG Cherry, but not sure what ever happened, and that one doesn't seem to be on Vanness's website).

Thanks for the review. I'd have to do a side by side to see if I want to get this one over KWZI Maroon (which is also on the "to try at some point" list).

I love Cherry. The warmer KWZ reds don't do it for me, but I am running low on this and need another bottle.
