Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

I found the petit baby pink in the 366 post, but not the kosumosu, the number seems to be missing; but I did find the kosumosu (but not the petit) in the pinks.

Assuming these scans are directly comparable, the two inks do look similar (similar hue) but the kosumosu is darker (lower saturation and luminosity) in a pretty noticeable way. From your own scans, the rose tendresse looks closer to me: it has more comparable luminosity, although it does have a more purplish hue. Of course scans are not the same thing as the real thing, so if you say the kosumosu is closer I will take your word for it. On the other hand, the kosumosu is about 3 times more expensive...

I think you will really like Rose Tendresse. Kosumusu is actually more saturated but than either of the others, but it's really hard to tell from pictures and scans.

Thanx for the very detailed reply. It is surprising what different colors people are willing to call pink (e.g. pelikan pink), so I was very pleased to discover the petit1 baby pink that is very close to what comes to my mind when I hear "pink"; that is why I am so keen to identify a similar bottled ink.

You are welcome. I hope it helps. I never thought I'd use Kosmos, but I think it's a beautiful PINK.

  • 2 months later...

So... now that we solved the pink... what about the blue?

I recently inked up my blue one and I was again blown away. The color is extremely to my liking, and unlike all of my other blues (which include Lamy Blue, Pelikan 4001 Royal Blue, J. Herbin Éclat de Saphir and Pilot's own normal Blue). Has anyone come across anything that matches?

Looking for some green ink for my Petit, no preference with exact color match as long as it works with the pen and it is green. Cheap if possible. Thanks in advance.

My original green cartridge has not emptied yet, but I have some diamine greens ready for it. Diamine makes a lot of green inks and they are very cheap, especially in Europe. Since I have not tried it in the petit, though, I can't tell you if it will flow well; however, they do flow well (even a bit too well) in my borghini roller balls that have a similar wick feed.
