Does The Parson's Essential Fine Stub Have Tipping?

Does the Parson's Essential Fine Stub have tipping, or is it just a less severely cut italic (which has no tipping) from them?

As far as I can see with the help of a 15x loupe, yes it has. BTW, the Parson's Essential with the fine stub nib is an excellent writer.

Thanks for the endorsement! I'm split between the Fine and the Fine Stub (the Italic looks great too but I would prefer tipping to be there since I'm a left-handed side-writer, even though Italix has a good reputation for smoothness regardless of nib).

 

By saying that you looked at it from a 15x loupe, do you mean to say there's little visible tipping to the naked eye? Would you know how much less there is between the Fine rounded and the Fine stub?

It's my understsnding that all stubs sold by Italix are tipped...which I enjoy much more than untipped stubs. The Fine Italic nib is .85mm at its broadest stroke. The Fine Stub is comparable.

 

It's been my experience that Italix nibs run a tad narrower than typical Western nibs. I should add that Mr. Pen has seen me make this statement before and disagrees with me. His nibs are German made and ground at his shop in England. All the nibs have an M (medium) engraved on them and then he custom grinds them to customers specs. If you need more specific info, I would suggest emailing Peter Ford (Mr Pen) at Italix. He's great at getting back to you with info you need.

 

I agree with sthp...Parson's Essentials are excellent pens and Mr Ford's nibs are the best pens I've ever used right out of the box. His grinds are top notch.

Thank you! If it is indeed a bit finer than a Western Fine it really would be ideal for my hand (which prefers Japanese mediums). I look forward to owning one--hopefully soon enough.
