Anyone Have Interesting Sheaffer Autographs / Signatures?

I finally got myself a Sheaffer Snorkel signature, but was not able to read the engraving on eBay. I find it amusing that mine belonged to a "Bob Ross." Unfortunately I'm fairly certain it isn't the famous TV painter. I'm curious whether anyone has one with a famous name attached...'https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/uploads/imgs/fpn_1480807680__1203161725-1.jpg'

I bought a Sheaffer Autograph lever-fill from another FPN member last year - but the pen wasn't engraved. Anyone know if it's possible for a modern engraver to add one? I gather they used to add a signature to these pens in your own handwriting.

My only Snorkle is a black pen and pencil set in the original case with "Al Scharper" stamped in white on both. That may account for the low price I got them for. Absolutely pristine, appear never used.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Interesting Autograph pens? I think they're all interesting. I have three and another set that believe was called "Crest Masterpiece."

I believe the first three are from in the 1937 to 1942 era and have levers. The first (below) is a Viceroy Autograph (14k band only). The name engraved is "R. S. Mackay":

This one (below) is called an Excellence Autograph Lifetime and has a 14k clip in addition to a 14k band. The inscription is "J.S. to M.A.D. 1933":

The set (below) on the left here is another Viceroy Autograph. The name is Carl C. ??? The set on the right is the Crest Masterpiece--probably late 45-47 because it has the Vac-Fil system--with the name Estelle F. Bloom:

I just acquired my first autograph Sheaffer this summer. It is a TM Touchdown with a 14k gold cap band and clip that I acquired for the princely sum of $1 at a flea market. I was quite excited to find one as I had never seen one before in the wild. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, it lacks an engraving.

However, I am really enjoying the photos of the ornately engraved Sheaffer autograph pens in this thread.

What you would want is an old-school jeweler or engraver. If you want to do it with your signature, you'll need a skilled hand-engraver who's willing to practice and get it right before they put your signature on the band. If you want standard engraved characters, there are probably machines that can do it, but hand-engraved block characters would look stunning!

Unfortunately, craft like hand-engraving isn't cheap.

If you want to go all out, get a master engraver to do the whole band and maybe the 14k clip just they way you like it:

Thanks, Kalessin - it sounds as though a hand-engraver would be able to do this if I wanted my signature on the pen. I must admit that Robert111's photos broadened my imagination on what is possible for these pens. Those were wonderful photos.
