I'm also considering to order one of these pens, but I have a couple of questions first (since this would be my first group buy of any kind):

  1. Amit37 already asked about the colour of SE rod #11, Solid Cherry Red, but I have a question about the ‘texture’ of the ebonite, as I'm not sure about it from the pictures in this thread: Is the colour completely uniform, or is there some kind of pattern to it, like tiny dots that are darker/lighter than the rest of the rod, or something? There's a picture on the Asapens-Website of some Ebonite rods used for the Nauka (Link), and there are two rods that look similar to SE rod #11, namely № 6 and № 7 (that kind of looks like chocolate) in the linked picture. I really like the very subtle pattern that these two rods seem to have. Is rod #11 similar in any way?

It is similar to the rod no.6 as per link above ...the rod has uniform color .. however it has certain black specks which occur randomly and are very tiny

  1. How thick is the section? It seems like it might be a bit too thick for my taste, as I have relatively small hands. Is it possible to get a (slightly) thinner section, or a section that is concave/pinched a bit, as with the Model 8, or tapers more towards the lip?

Yes you can tell the seller about the section when you send him payment receipt ..

  1. Is the option ‘threaded for Bock #6 Nib unit’ the same price as the corresponding option for a JoWo/Schmidt nib unit?

actuallly threaded for Schmidt/JoWo/Bock are alll same price...

  1. Are Premium rods #2 and #5 the only Ebonite rods that are currently out of stock?

yes

Thanks in advance!

I have a question. For the #6 premium ebonite entitled Pale Pink Black Swirl, which picture below represents it? (Picture is from the American Art Plastics website, which also has images of the other premium ebonites)

The name makes me think it's the light pink, but from the image on the first page i think it's the darker version. I'm quite confused

I have a similar question to the above:

based on the images provided on pg 1 of this thread..

Premium# 6 Pale Pink Black Swirl looks to have a much DARKER RED than

Regular #12 Rose Red Black Ripple.

Can you confirm which has the Darker Red?

Thank-you

Please also note that JoWo nib is right now not in stock...

Sure, no problem. As long as it can be threaded for #6 JoWo. Then it shouldn't be a problem.

there is a difference... the red on the premium is brighter than that of special colors... secondly the pattern differs.. premium has random swirls whereas the special has nearly consistent ripples

And just pressed the Send button on PayPal...

Hi, followup to my questions about colo(u)rs, I see someone asked about Pelikan nibs. Presumably sending the nibs to Mr. Kandan means he fits the units directly into the pens, meaning they're there permanently, is that correct? Thanks again.

Pelikan nibs are screw in nib units.. You will be able to take it out as per your wish
