Help Me Know A "51" Desk Pen

Recommended Posts

Lying next to an Esterbrook 8ball holder was this lonely Parker "51" desk pen sans holder, so I added it to the purchase. It added a mere $5 to the total. It has a date code of 8 with no dots, the aerometric sac shield is matte finish, and on it is written "To fill press ribbed bar...use dry writing super chrome ink...". What have I got?

Should I look for a holder? Or just get a cap?

For love of it. And yet not waste time either.

Most desk bases sell for less than a good cap.

The desk base and the shipping will probably be about the same. I have a 51 desk pen just about the same as the one you bought. It came with a desk base, some fifteen years ago. I like desk pens and sometimes ink a 51 desk pen, sometimes a Sheaffer Imperial or Snorkel.
