Glad you all enjoy the overview. At some point I'll make a simple disassembly video / write up.

Hi sketchstack,

On behalf of the Conid team, our sincere thanks for your excellent detailed review!

One tip : As shown on the Conid user instructions : after filling, storing and anchoring the piston at the back, the rod should be pushed back in the barrel while the pen is still above the ink bottle.

Doing so one avoids a small amount of ink is spilled by the volume displacement of the rod.

Enjoy your Bulkfiller !

Kind regards,

Francis

Nice pen, great review! Would you say ink tends to evaporate more or less than with regular piston or converter pens? My one piston filler M400 seems to last for a lot longer than the ones with converter, now that I think about it.

I have three pens and have found that ink tends - especially in the CAISO Bulkfiller - to last a long time. I filled it and left it on the shelf for about a month (specifically to test this) and I couldn't see a noticeable difference in ink from when I initially filled it. I attribute this to great sealing at rear of the pen and that the pen seals when you put on the cap to prevent ink from leaking while in transit. This can be done by screwing down the blind cap on the regular Bulkfiller as well.

That said, I've flown with the Bulkfiller Slimline and had zero issues with it burping mid-flight, so I assume that the seal is airtight (hence the lack of evaporation).

Hope that helps answer your question.

Thanks for a great review of a pen of which I am incredibly fond. I have two Kingsize, with a third currently en-route from Belgium. My experiences mimic your own...

Interesting. Can I ask what you were hoping for in the custom?

Oh just the use of some exotic materials that are more scratch resistant among a few other things. 😃😃 But I've decided to simplify the design a bit, going to go all demo instead. Some other things as well, Let's just say it'll be a surprise 😉.
