Mystery Wire Band Pen

I'm pretty sure this isn't a Craftsman, Admiral, Cadet or Sovereign. I have a Sheaffer postwar wire band pen chart. The information from it eliminates the first three and I'm pretty sure all the Sovereigns with wire bands were white dot pens.

The following are characteristics of this pen:

59 "Triumph" nib

lever fill

no thread ring

non white dot

no price code

I remember some discussion of uncommon wire band models in a thread years ago but have been unable to track them down with the search engine here.

Hmm, unusual configuration! Can't wait to hear what the experts say!

Everything except the lack of thread ring is right for the c. 1946 Admiral II; the point and plastic are off for the later version of the Admiral. I'd speculate with some hope of being correct that this is something being made right at the transition from the Triumph-point, celluloid-body version to the open-point, Forticel-bodied one.

But since "speculate" is something we try not to do too much of, I'll keep my door locked and the curtains drawn.
