Update - John Holland Nib Un-Doomed

Mr. Minuskin has been busy with his laser, and made my John Holland nib whole again. I'm AMAZED! Here's pictures:

Looks F-BBB or EF-BB still very good. 5X tine spread.

I strive to stay one width under max. I have a '40's 100n, that is 5X, and only take it out to 4X.

One of our very good posters, posted a very good article of what Waterman said it was doing in the late '30's. They were more after tine bend....ease of tine bend, and not tine spread. If I recollect...a 3X tine spread...could have been 4X.

Rather than the Waterman huge wide tine spread we expect today of Olympic splits of 6 or 7X tine spread.

I have a couple of nibs like that. They remind me of trout rising and they're wonderfully responsive. The purpose of a nib like that is to add expression to one's writing, by any means necessary.

John Holland nibs are lovely; the one I have has an ease of flex not too dissimilar to my Leonardt Principle. I can see why you decided to save this specimen.
