Cases Used To Carry A Carène?

Caeruleum

Recommended Posts

I am considering to buy a Carène. Thus I wondered which cases I could use to carry it around. I would use this pen at home and probably in environments like a university. Which cases fit? Which cases do you think are good? Maybe: which cases match the design?

I am looking forward for recommendations.

I glanced at a simple case by Lamy ( http://www.lamyshop.com/lederwaren-lamy-a112.html ). Maybe some of you gained experience with this case?

I used an older Waterman leather case. Realizing the Carene cap wouldn't post, I ceased to carry the Carene so as to not lose the cap. The Carene being a pricey Waterman pen, why use a Lamy case?

Although there are many leather cases advertised for holding pens, I would steer well clear of the material. If it gets wet or damp it can and does corrode the contents.

Waterman once marketed 'leather' cases, of which I have a number, but while they may be leather they appear coated to make them moisture proof. Look here They are also now rare to find.

I do not transit my pens much now but if I did I not only use these cases but for my more expensive pens, Epsons, I use cutter boxes.

Also try not to advertise your pens name or any well know quality pen name for that matter...this makes it tempting to the light fingered kind.

My son owns many Gibson and Taylor guitars but he carries them in blank Hiscox cases and not their original supplied labelled cases.

I poposed a Lamy case because Waterman doesn't carry own cases (at least no more), because Lamy cares about quality, because I don't know many brands which produce cases and Lamy just is available and seemed to have something that could do the job.

A cutter box is a plastic box and you wrap the pen with padding fabric, right Force?

Yes, I have used glasses cloth which I rarely use to clean my glasses.
