inkstainedruth is right. The Cafe Creme does look much nicer than in photos. I went to the Post Office today, and finally got my order. It was a large box for the M200, but no complaints.

 

Now that I have mine, I really, really hope @inkstainedruth finds hers in her house some day soon.

Yeah, it took them something like 9 months to give back my first good pen (the blue Parker Vector) -- probably because it didn't have ink in it (unlike the Café Crème ).

Apparently they have now *also* absconded with the Lamy LX (but fortunately *not* the Parker Vacumatic Azure Blue Speedline filler Debutante...).

Keep the faith. They nabbed my cherished ebonite Namisu Nova from the 'safe place' I'd moved it to. Searched and searched intermittently for the wretched thing, though I was sure I knew where I'd put it. Then months and months later I went back to that same place, dug just a little deeper, and there it was, almost mocking me. I felt quite spooked. Or just stoopid.

I finally managed to snag one of these for a decent price on the fleaBay... Now the anxious waiting begins, checking the postage tracking every few hours...

 

I am preparing a vintage OM nib and feed to swap in after testing the stock nib. I now have managed to buy two of the three "modern" Pelikans I want (Cognac & Cafe Creme, just the White Tortoise to go).

 

So excited!

That has happened to me on a number of occasions and not just with pens.

 

I once kept searching for an item in a box over a period of 3-4 months and gave up. It later transpired that a similar box, containing the item, had been moved to another room.

I ordered an italic nib for mine, and it arrived yesterday. I switched out nibs, and now the Cafe Creme has an italic nib. Certainly changes the look of the J Herbin Cafe des Iles when writing with the italic vs the fine. Not just the line width but the color looks different. I’ve seen that with Mont Blanc Toffee Brown.

It has arrived and it is AWESOME! The stock steel nib is nice and smooth, but I prefer nibs with some line variation and "softness" so I popped a vintage nib and feed unit into it (OM, '54-'65) and it is now officially my favourite pen in my collection.
