I had an inkling that the importance of pen size was overplayed at least a little; it's reassuring to hear it from so many well experienced users too. Also I used a friends #3776 Century which is even shorter (unposted) then all the Mxxx Pelikans, and it's just as much of a dream to write with as my Safari!
Old Salt I think I'll take your advice and get the one that fits my budget, and then not think about it
