Diamine Shimmer Inks 2016 - Blue Flame

Dear Friends,

It is my pleasure and honour to share the latest Shimmer Inks from Diamine due to be released this month. There are 12 colours and I have been able to review them all thanks to Diamine. I welcome your thoughts and feedback, as always.

Thanks for the review. This one is pretty, but I'd curious as to how it compares to Shimmer Blue Pearl color-wise.

Thanks for these reviews. I have only one Diamine shimmer ink, Blue Pearl, which I find is an unusually pretty and well behaved ink. Very surprised by it's good behavior actually. Based on your review I think I still prefer Blue Pearl, but Blue Flame is nice. The sparkles limit my pen choices, which is kind of a bummer but they are fun inks.

I've added Blue Pearl for you above, they are very different and striking in their own right. I really do like this one, it had a beautiful depth in the blue.

The biggest difference between the two is, of course, that Blue Flame has gold sparkle and Blue Pearl has silver. But I find Blue Flame is a different base blue with a GORGEOUS, strong red sheen that Blue Pearl doesn't have. I'd say the Blue Flame base is slightly lighter - closest to Sapphire, when comparing it to Diamine's other colors, although I don't think Sapphire has the same sheen - whereas Blue Pearl's base color is darker. I'd say it's most comparable to Majestic Blue, though ironically without the sheen that Majestic Blue has. Hope this helps!

For some reason, I don't like Blue Flame. I had high hopes, but it writes quite dry for me, even in my wettest pens, and the shimmer is hit or miss. I find the blue bland. However, I agree that the sheen can be lovely.
