Parker Jotter Stainless Steel A Slippery Slope?

IvoryParker

Recommended Posts

Greetings all.

I ABSOLUTELY love the parker jotter stainless steel because of its aesthetics, weight and sheer retro stardom coolness.

My problem: too slippery at times can't get a good grip on it. I've read that other members experience the same issue.

Is there a solution, without destroying the looks of the pen off course. I'm open to suggestions

Many thanks ☺☺☺

One idea may be changing the refill. It wouldn't affect how the pen feels in hand, however swapping in a refill that takes less pressure to write with would reduce the force required to hold onto the pen with, reducing slippage. One popular refill people seem to like is the Schmidt Easyflow9000. Hope that helps!

I've found it depends how my hand is. Usually washing my hands gets me more grip on the it. I also think the later ones are less slippery than the older ones.

Hi, I have a '75' Flighter made in the 70s, and although the brushed stainless finish looks the same as my 2011 Jotter flighter, it is far more grippy.

The plastic barrels are much easier to hold while writing, yet the brushed stainless finish does look the part.

The new 2016 style of Jotter seems to be all steel, but with a lacquer finish over the top of it, which gives a very good grip.

I messed with mine for a while and never found anything that worked well without being ugly.

I finally just gave the pen to my wife (who promptly lost it).

Thanks for the responses. I have a beautiful stainless steel with brass threads its new in the package. This one definitely has a brushed stainless steel texture that aids in grip. My everyday carry is one from either 1989 or 1999 painful after a while.

I popped in a Parker gel refill so i don't need to grip as much I'm enjoying it now
