For those who still haven't seen the ink collector glued inside the section of the thin feed early production Parker 75 pen, here is one. Enjoy.

Sorry for the bad light and, hence, poor quality picture.

Thanks for posting this, I appreciate being able to see this and know what's inside the P75. Was the P51 the first pen to use this style of collector?

Lol. How did I fly over most of the Parker Forum? Let me know the meaning of this phrase / idiom please.

Did I do a bad thing? I think I am not a 'bad boy'. Lol again.

I am not sure but I think it was the 51 in which this kind of collector was first used.

I have heared people say their used 75s had ink flow problems despite good soaking and flushing. It appears, to me, cleaning the 75 collector should need as intense and as repeated soaking and flushing as the 51 collector needs.

Nice picture mitto. It's interesting to see that the design of this is so similar to the collector in the P45, I suppose because they are of a similar era. Thanks for taking the time to photograph it.

Yes, hood. It is almost the same design as that of the P45. I would, however, check and compare it with the P45 collector to minutely see if there were any smaller differences.

Hood, I was trying to campare the collectors of P75 and P45 and accidentally came across knowing the P45 have collectors of more than one design. In the picture below the collector on the left, as can be seen, is of P75 and the other two are of P45. The transparent one on the far right was found on an English Insignia P45 while the one in the middle was on a dark green CT (happy color?) USA made P45.

Interesting to note is that the black P45 collector has threads like on the P75 collector and, hence, can be threaded back into the section with the help of the converter. The transparent P45 collector, on the other hand, has no threads and instead has a raised band type nipple/converter end. I couldnt fit this one back into the section. It goes back inside, sit in its place but come back out when I pull back the converter. Perhaps it has to be glued back in its place.

Needless to say the fins patterns and the nib side end designs on both the P45 collectors are also different.

Hope every one enjoy this comparison of the P75 and P45 collectors, on the one hand, and of two different design P45 collectors, on the other.

Edited to add:

The threaded P45 collector does not thread into the section of the English Insignia P45 and likewise the unthreaded transparent P45 collector does not sit in its place in the green CT USA made P45 pen meaning the section internals of both the pens too are made differently in accordance with the collector designs.

Interesting. Nice to know.

Happy that you found it interesting. Most people generally dont have interest in such things.

That is interesting, thanks again for the picture mitto. I've only seen the threaded type before. Assuming the section was original, is the insignia an earlier model, can you estimate from the design?

Yes, hood, it is the earliest model Insignia. Here is a picture showing the pen with a replacement section and the original section with the dislodged collector. I have since put a replacement section in the pen as I wouldn't be glueing the collctor back into the original section. I would, rather, keep the section and collector for future reference. I am also keeping the black threaded collector in my parts box.

Fantastic thread. I really appreciate this as a resource. And now I'm off to give one of my badly behaved 75s a good soaking!

Let us know what happened to your badly behaved 75 after the good soak.

Mitto, is there any way to get these collectors out of the section for cleaning without damaging the section?

Well, I got these out of the sections without any damage to the sections. But I know it was not easy.

I wouldn't, however, advise doing so just for cleaning purposes.

Sounds like wise advice. Thank you.
