Hi folks,

Sorry if this question has been raised before-- I can't find the answer.

Why did Omas make their Alba limited editions in runs of 327?

My guess-- they were founded in March 1927???

Thanks!

Ralf

Omas was founded in 1925.

But you are right... it has to do with 1927, the first year of production of the Ogiva (round) model.

Along these lines, in 2011 Omas released a number of limited editions celebrating 80 years of another iconic model, the Paragon with 12 facets.

These dates are not always referred in a consistent fashion, but this was the company's stance.

By the way, just noticed that www.omas.com was finally taken down.

Thanks K.

Yes, I can't even find a cached version of the site anymore. There's surprisingly little solid Omas history out there, though there may be some in Italian (I don't read Italian).

Cheers,

Ralf
