Hobonichi Website Question

While trying to go to the Hobonichi website, I typed in www.1101.com instead of clicking on the link www.1101.com/store that is in a previous thread.

What I got instead of the of the Hobonichi website was a site in Japanese that didn't seem to have anything to do with Hobonichi. I hope i didn't open a redirected site that could have a virus or malware.

Am I being worried about nothing?

It's a personal web-news page by Japanese writer Shigesato Itoi.

No virus nor malware, I suppose.

Yet, I don't know the relationship between Hobonichi papers and Mr. Itoi.

Thank you. It just caught me off-guard when it happened.

I wonder why both websites use the same www.1101.com url?

Yes it is a bit odd that they don't have a custom domain. It does appear that someone is cybersquatting on the .com site they might have chosen, but surely the could come up with something else.

I signed up for their mailing lists and now I get strange emails in Japanese. I have no idea what they are about.

Web research revealed that "Hobonichi techno" is produced by Mr. Itoi and also sold in this site for Japanese market.

As there's no language option, I cannot find English version.

This site is genuine, but only written in Japanese.

Just ordered the Hobonichi Techo Cousin with Safari cover set and A5 pencil board.

Thought the Hobonichi covers were expensive, but when I searched for other A5 covers, the quality ones were priced similar.

It redirects to a subdirectory of the 1011 domain, but it's an easy to remember URL that leads to the right place.
