As some of you may know Poland is one of biggest exporters of cosmetics, furniture and fruits. But we also have inks. Or, to be more precise, one ink maker - KWZI. Konrad offers handmade inks in more than sixty colors. You can check his website here.

Monarch was made for Fontoplumo shop in Netherlands. The idea was to create an ink that could accompany this stunning SE Conid Bulkfiller Monarch fountain pen.

First let's look at the bottle.

And now the color, well, this color simply rocks. It's rich, shades nicely, is strongly saturated and lubricates nib in a pleasant way. It may be one of three best oranges I've ever tried. Simply stunning. If water resistance is important for you, you'll have to look somewhere else - Monarch offers no water resistance. The ink can be bought only directly from Fontoplomu. Good news is you don't have to buy the pen in order to get the ink;)

On the other hand this pen is simply stunning. If only it wouldn't cost that much, I would get it and wait impatiently for it to come.

Order the pen - shipment will be free ;)

LOL...buying that beautiful pen would strike a mortal blow to my pen budget.

Excellent review, Vis, of an outstanding ink. Konrad really outdid himself with this one. Great name for pen and ink! Have a bottle coming in the mail. I always cringe when the shipping cost exceeds the product cost. 1st world problems.

Yes, Konrad made great creation. I believe though that Frank from Fontoplumo helped creative process a bit :)

Sad thing is I can't get this pen out of my head and I started all kinds of calculations to see if I could somehow fool myself that I'm able to get it. So far, I'm not creative enough :)

That's why I ordered two! To feel better about the shipping fee...

How does paying VAT feel? First time, I think. :)

Oh, yeah, I need this one.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Maybe if we all told Frank you sent us for the ink and wrote an outstanding review that made it impossible to resist, yada,yada,yada...maybe, just maybe, he'd give you a discount. Like a finder's fee.

Come on kids...let's do it for Vis!!! said in my best Micky Rooney/ Judy Garland impersonation.

Oh my, visvamitra, have you fallen for a Conid . . . ?

Once in the mind it'll eat you alive, slowly, very slowly until that inevitable day when it's in your hands . . . !

Love the review. Those little teensy yellow accents make each letter look like it's alight.

Thanks for the review.

Not a color for me, though.

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."
