A very nice read, thanks for sharing! It was also nice to see "our own" Bob Page quoted.

Stationary =/= StationEry

Sad to see that typo in a rag that should know better. ;)

Also to be picky, Honda wasn't bothered copying German motorcar designs in the 1960s - they were too busy building motorcycles! Their attack on 4-wheeled transport outside of JP began with the Civic.

Nissan otoh... their "tribute" to Mercedes engines & BMW suspension is remarkable :) very Lanbitou vs Lamy :P

Apparently the Great Firewall blocks the hisnibs site. Those in China can't view the page. It also seems to interfere with the emoticons as well. I can't even add the slam head into wall emoticon...

Likewise the misspelling of Sheaffer. :headsmack:

Didn't detract from a fascinating article, though. Thanks for sharing.

Sheaffer is actually spelled correctly. For a change. One of the oldest pen names is also one of the most misspelled.

And probably misspelled in more different ways than any other. :)

It's wrong in the caption on the first page of the article.

Ooof! I missed that. Schaffer, Scheaffer, Shaffer, Sceaffer...still waiting to see Shayfer.
