I just found these ebonite feed JOWO nibs for sale, does anyone know if they will fit pens that use the plastic units? Does anyone have experience with fpnibs.com?

I have excellent experience with FPnibs myself too. They sell Joowo and calligraphy nibs and they also grind nibs. Not affiliated.

- Kaigelu 316 Modification (250 #6 Bock Nib / Beaufort Ink Converter)
- Titanium Bock Nib - Kaigelu 316 - Beaufort Ink

- Bock Rollerball Nib In Jinhao 886 Pen - Beaufort Ink Converter

- No affiliation with pen industry, just a pen hobbyist.

- It matters what you write, only for us it matters what we write it with.

ah yes lovely, I bought one of these too...! the presence of the ebonite feed was too attractive, but... I had not understood it is not the standard Jowo #6 thread size...

it does not fit any of my pens with regular #6 jowo nibs, Edison, Bexley, Ranga, etc.

what pens will it fit?

I sent a message to fpnibs asking but did not get reply (must have been holiday season)

any advise would be appreciated, I am not keen to return it, it looks too good!

I am considering having a custom pen made for it.

after soliciting, I got reply today

Esther says:

"I think you can use that nib unit for a custom pen that a pen maker can make for you.
I believe Fragionatto uses already that nib unit and Martin Pauli too. We do make Gimena fountain pens with that nib unit. Another pen maker in Spain is Gabriel Clavijo."
So that means that ManuPropria uses these nibs! (check them out if you have never seen their pens)
Gimena also look nice, but seem a bit pricy to buy one which would probably alredy come with a nib.
Odd that Esther's suggestion also comes close to my own consideration to possibly have a custom pen built especially for this nib!
Not quite sure where to start though...

One way to start would be to ship your nib unit to one of the Indian pen makers (ASA, Ranga, Fosfor etc.) and have them make a section, cap and body to go with it. Once they have your nib in hand, they can drill and tap a grip section to hold it.

As Esther indicated in her email, the people behind fpnibs.com (herself and Pablo) are the same people who manufacture Gimena fountain pens. I have no experience with their pens (though I've bought several custom ground nibs from them), but I'm sure you could order a pen minus nib assembly from them if you wanted!

Thanks for advise, and sorry for late reply

I also thought about Ranga, they are probably the best option if I want to keep expenses within reasonable level,

although the idea of checking out one or two of the American artisan pen makers also crossed my mind

I need to think about it a bit more

Right on the page you linked to it says:
