Preferences For Pen Cases?

MandaLou

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone could tell me their personal preference for what to carry their fountain pens in? I'm looking for my boyfriend who uses fountain pens every day. He takes them to use at work and I'm thinking having some kind of carrying case would be a nice gift.

I've looked at different types but I thought it best to ask those who use them what is the most practical or preferred way.

Thanks for any input you have :)

What kind of budget are you looking at? How many pens does he take daily? Material preferences?

I am a leather person - so I use leather cases I got off FPN. They take 4 pens and can fit in a pocket.

Consider the Pelikan 3 pen case, the Franklin-Christoph 3 pen case or the Visconti Dreamtouch leather series.

If you are looking for nylon material, consider Nock Co. cases.

Hope I helped!

A sincere man am I
From the land where palm trees grow,
And I want before I die
My soul's verses to bestow.

All those moments will be lost in time.
Like tears in rain.
Time to die.

I was looking to get a 3 or 4 pen case and was hoping to stay under 60.00 CAD but with shipping and the exchange rate from USD, that's tough to do.

I've been looking at the Franklin-Chrisoph 3 pen case but I'm going to check out the other ones you've mentioned. :)

+ 1 for Pelikan 3 pen cases, my favorite. And should be (just) whiting your budget if you get free shipping:

I also like the Pilot Pensemble 5 pens roll, and the black one should be within your budget (but it takes a while to arrive from Japan):

Finally there is this Pilot 3 pen case that my wife has and I like a lot too (will be getting one for me as soon as possible):

All three are made of very good quality leather, so it's more a matter of the style you prefer.

Good luck.

All four of my carry cases are Nock Co. A couple of Lookouts, a Hightower, & a 3 pen/2 compartment bifold model that doesn't seem to be on their site anymore whose name I seem to have forgotten. They hold up well.

Definitely a nice gift, it depends on how many pens he carries, and his personal taste... As an example here are mine, the one on the left is a simple canvas case in a colour I like, the one in the middle is padded and stands on its own, the one on the right is a classic made from cow hide (unfortunately for a vegetarian!). I am also waiting for the NockCo lookout.

I have one of those and use it daily. It is very nice indeed. I fit my Parker 45 and 2 Sheaffer Imperials in there and even occasionally sneak in a fourth pen if it isn't too fat.

I use this and my Pilot Somes every single day. I like the Pilot cases much much more than the FC cases.

Looking for a cap for a Sheaffer Touchdown Sentinel Deluxe Fat version
