Installing A Sac In A Montblanc 220P

Yesterday I received a Montblanc 220P, the CC version of the 220. The cap was damaged, but it was ok for me, because the nib looked like an OBB, at least. I wanted to have this nib, and the price was ok. After flushing it, I tried to put a converter in it but it didn't work. I realized that the nipple, which holds the cartridge or converter was broken off. I dipped the nib in ink to test it and the writing experience was fantastic, so I decided to improvise. I installed a sac, with shellac, where usually the converter would sit.

I know this is not an optimal solution but it works until I find a donor pen. The maximum ink capacity, when I fill it with a syringe from the hole where the converter would sit, is 1,7ml. Filling it using the sac I get around 1ml of ink. Approximately the same as a converter.

It doesn't say the nib size on the nib, but it is definitely broader than a Pelikan OB. So, I would say at least an OBB. Here is a writing sample:

Nice work. I always like seeing members working their own solutions out.

Yes, that looks like an OBB. You should have some fun using that nib.

Enjoy.

I have an OBB just like yours, and it's one of the smoothest writing nibs I've ever used.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.
