I wish But, this nib is not for me. The good folks at Boutique Emirates Towers let me have a go at it for some time. This is identified as Signature and they had an even broader one that's labelled Calligraphy. That one was a just ridiculous.

 

I did order a custom nib for the upcoming Solitaire Martele (which is going to unfortunately delay me receiving it until November at the earliest it turns out). This one tantalized my common senses for a few days, but if I do order such a nib I believe the pen won't see much use.

When I saw these images when they were originally posted I also wondered that.

Somehow I had it in my mind that a nib with two splits was a music nib.

However, I felt that it was more likely that I didn't know, so I said nothing.

After 15 years of Ms and Fs I figured that I need to mix it up a little Tom Kellie of course played a large role in this

 

On a serious note, I think that eventually a real FP aficionado needs to experiment with different points sooner or later. Those who stay within their comfort zone are 'users' in contrast no? Been a trip learning to write in italic

Totally agree with you. Not only rotating the daily pens for design but also for a variety of writing pleasure . I also buy from nibs from F till BB now.

~ What Ghost Plane mentioned a couple of months ago, about the the broad side appealed to me:

“We have cookies”.

I'd been a dedicated Montblanc EF nib user for several years, as I loved how such a slender nib wrote in document margins.

To this day I use a 149 EEF, a 149 EF, two Classique EFs, and a Mozart EF which writes like an EEF. For specialized tasks they exceed all of my expectations.

Yet something was missing. My Montblanc pens were functioning as scholarly tools, but not very much as a means of personal expression.

I was missing out on the cookies.

After finding that a 146 B nib was almost playful in what might be written, I moved much wider and have never looked back.

I'm learning finer points of handwriting, having a great time doing so, and expanding my previously narrow conception of how a fine fountain pen might perform.

For Pravda and others who are letting broader nibs become part of their fountain pen experience, I'm confident that they'll enjoy the full-sized nibs as I have.

Not to mention Ghost Plane's cookies...

I has an O3B nib on a 149 and was under the impression that was the 'signature' nib. Tell you what though......that is one stunning nib !

The O3B nib is a special order option on the 149, at no additional cost. It has two tines. The Signature Nib is a bespoke nib with three tines, and is not an oblique. $$$$
