EQPR Erano's Quaterly Pen Review (newsletter review)

Recommended Posts

It was my intention to post a summary of the latest issue after I read it several weeks ago but I'm just forcing myself to sit down and get to it now.

The latest issue includes the following:

Cover Story: Letls Not Write off New pens

Although the EQPR focuses primarily on vintage (and Paul assures us that it will continue to do so), I know that Paul owns a fair number of modern pens too. The article speaks to differences and similarities, pros & cons between buying, selling, collecting, owning, styling, etc about new and old pens.

Part II: Interview With Andy Beliveau

About hard rubber. I'm not normally a geek about technical aspects of my pens, but I must say that this was my favorite article in the issue. That is definitely not to say that there was anything lacking in the other articles, but I really enjoyed this article about an area of collecting about which, although I'm not completely ignorant, doesn't usually get my juices flowing as this interview with Andy did.

Abrasive Comments: A Primer

Opinions and advice on how's & why's (or why not's) of polishing pens, by Anthony Izzo.

Pen Shows: Philadelphia & LA

Reviews (including my local show - Philadelphia - which has been on a real uptick the past 2-3 years!)

Correspondence Without Burden

Nicholas Ayo on written correspondence

Why Don't We Have Our Own Museum?

Paul's vision of why we should, and what it might include. From vision comes reality, right?

If you're interested in more information about the EQPR, there's a link on Pauls website is paulspens.com Pauls Pens

Not to make this a commercial post (but, moderators, if you feel that it is, by all means move it to the Marketplace), Paul informs me that the 5-issues-for-the-price-of-4 offer that he made back in December is still valid to FPN members. (Link to old post December EQPR post)

Two wrongs don't make a right, but three rights make a left.
