What Happened To Platinum President?

Does anybody know what happened to the President line from Platinum? I've had extremely positive experiences with all the Platinum pens that I have had, especially their President. However, it appears that they've stopped manufacturing those pens for some time --- Engeika doesn't have them in stock, Rakuten hardly has anything relevant, very few of these pens show up on amazon.jp... Whatever is wrong?

you sure you checked rakuten? pen-house in Osaka still has it for sale in black...

My point exactly, Algester: if you try Rakuten, e.g., the links in the post above, you'll find that the "Fine" and "Medium" nibs are out of stock; if you try to get the pen in Blue, very little chance of success. After considerable search I managed to get one in burgundy with a Fine nib from amazon.jp, and it's a fantastic writer, and that was the last item in the Fine and burgundy combination on amazon.jp; that was some 4 months ago, and there's no improvement in supply yet.

Thanks. Yes, that is a very decent price. Much lower than the vintage models that appear on eBay from time to time.
