IT'S AALIIIIVE! The Franken-Christoph was created with success!

 

Here are my findings:

 

-Friction fit nibs come out of housing easily for both Bock and Jowo

 

- First I tried the suggestion of keeping the feeds matched to their housing and just swapping nibs, so it was the Bock titanium on the Jowo feed in the FC Jowo housing. It fit into the housing OK (a tight fit! Was afraid I couldn't get it back out), but the feed and nib weren't the best fit - the nib was slightly lifted off of the feed after two tries. It still worked fine - the nib was close enough to the feed that the ink maintained surface tension- but wasn't ideal especially thinking down the line when it might get worse with writing.

 

- So, the winning combination is the Bock titanium nib and Bock feed in the FC Jowo housing. Also a tight fit, and it looks like it doesn't go in quite as far as it should (as in the nib and feed are sticking out just a smidge) but it functions just fine and the nib is nice and snug on the feed.

 

This nib and pen is a lovely combination - the EF titanium nib is very wet and smooth and has a pleasant bounce and softness to it. Very happy with the results. No leaking issues to report *knock on wood*

Nice. I can't say that my B width titanium nib is that smooth, but nice nib either way.

 

Btw, writing sample looks pretty broad / wet for EF.

I spoke too soon! Turns out because the Bock feed is longer and thus can't go all the way into the FC Jowo housing, the nib doesn't seat properly to the feed and thus ink drips down the tip of the nib. I tried adjusting it a number of times but no luck. bummer. Back to the Masuyama CI nib that I love, but I also really enjoyed the feel of this TI nib. Now I have an extra Karas TI unit and nothing to do with it.

Just purchased a used FC 66 and a Bock # 6 Titanium nib (that was supposed to go on a Jinhao). Will give this a try and post results. I hope you don't mind my reviving an old thread.

So I just tried the aforementioned setup of putting a Bock 250 (#6) Titanium nib with a Jowo #6 feed and housing (Franklin-Christoph), and the resulting gap between nib and feed made it unusable. Here is a photo:

 

I was also unable to fit the Bock nib with its original Bock feed into the Jowo housing.

As mentioned in another thread I "encouraged" a Bock 1.5 to fit on a Jowo feed in a Jowo housing, and it functions as it should. It's a permanent arrangement.

Nice! What sort of “encouragement” was needed? Did you just bend the nib?
