What's Your Favourite Looking Montblanc?

I have always liked the 144 in bordeaux, since I bought my first one in 1983. It's simply styled and the color is beautiful.

I agree they are simple, beautiful work horses. I like the red section some of them came in.

I am a humble woman, I like the regular old 146 with gold trim.

I'm with you. The 146 is what I think of when I think "fountain pen". It's iconic because it's so perfect in its proportions and execution.

Earlier ones had black sections, like the ones I bought in 1983 and 1990. My 1983 one still has a black section, but the one bought in 1990 went through Montblanc service around 2010, and came back with a red section. The Pens I bought after 2000 had red sections.

Montblanc has been improving this pen over the years. The gold trim ring that used to come off and not hold the cap on now threads onto the section. The section threads that would sometimes break are now metal instead of the older plastic.

The Proust is a classy looking pen indeed. Thanks for sharing.

The 126PL is one of the very finest looking fountain pens I've ever seen. Too bad MB doesn't reincarnate the gorgeous classics. The company seems besotted with creating "statement" pens these days.

Only at position 5... I really enjoy this pen - btw: it's also a skeletonized barrel.

The Montblanc 126PL is handsome indeed. Like the pattern on the barrel.

I don't recall the name. It looks like the hammered steel from the Tolstoy barrel. Size is 146 LeGrand. Price is $1,585 US. I put a down payment for my order and can call the Boutique for the name of it later today.

Lately my interests have drifted away from Kafka's due to its length...

So, to rename my Favorites, and my wish list:

Faves (owned): Leonardo and Mark Twain

These look and write fantastically

Wish list:

-Proust, Ludovico (888 edition), Poe, Dumas and Verne.

While we are at it: Friedrich II, Pope Julius.

If I won lottery today and had to spend money on 5 Montblanc's I would buy...

1. Blue Hour Skeleton

2. Andy Warhol 1928 Ltd. Ed. with flowers

3. 1914 in Black or Coral

4. Another Skeleton in Silver with 149 shape

5. Moonpearl

The only one I seen in person is the Moonpearl in Harrods on holiday a while back. In a massive glistening room full of fountain pens it really stood out as by far the most impressive...but then they didn't have the skeletons, 1914, Andy Warhol...
