Nagasawa Kobe Santica

Another special edition Kobe blue. It's perfectly fine, but like I say in the review, I have so many blues that it takes something really special to get my attention, and this is too close to #14 Maya Lapis to be worth seeking out (speaking only for myself!).

I do get some subtle sheen on Tomoe, but I had a hard time capturing it in my fading sunlight. You can kind of see it in the scrubby, though:

Kidding aside gylyf... Thanks so much for the reviews. These are all beautiful blues...

I just don't find them different enough justify buying a bottle of each.

I don't know what you're talking about, those look nothing alike.

;)

I believe you .. truly. I must be missing one of those "cones" cell in my retina..

You do know that with the right paper and nib (and lighting).. they could be "almost" identical... ;)

Must be a sucker for nuance--I'd buy both.

I wonder if chromatography would show Maya to have more green? Either way, it's nice to know there's a more readily available alternative once my bottle of Santica finishes.

It is my understanding that #37 looks like #50 as well. :cP

I totally agree. :) Haruka was kind enough to send me samples of the Ur and the Santica, but I don't see myself seeking out bottles of either when there are so many other amazing Sailor blues to be had. At this point, I always enjoy trying new blues and reviewing them, but I've pretty much settled on my staples and it takes a pretty amazing blue to really grab my attention. Edited by gylyf

I found 37 much more interesting than 50, which is by far the most boring Sailor blue ink I've ever tried. 37 is much more saturated than 50. My bottle of 50 was just... meh: no sheen, no interesting shading, it was just kind of there... I'll post a comparison tomorrow when the sun returns. :)

Agree... I remember Legend Blue being lighter...

Nothing to see here. Everyone else should definitely go buy all the other brands *

* Please stop posting these reviews. I want to keep all these inks to myself :-)

Boo, my Santica hasn't sheened yet. I guess I need a wetter pen. As it is, I do agree, it's nice. I will use it. But it's not particularly special or must-have.

You are so naughty. I was able to find this ink through a friend. You are all enablers. I luv ya, but you are an enabler.

I am not an enabler. :)

Boy, that ( The Bear that Wasn't) about sums up my child's situation of being Japanese yet claimed by the US to be an American. Doesn't seem like their story will have a happy ending though.

Well, darn. I expected to love this ink because I love Maya Lapis. Don't do it. Maya Lapis is much prettier.
