Anyone with suggestions on how to obtain the Pen and Message inks?

I don't think there is any way for you to get these unless you are going to Kobe and paying pen & message shop a visit.

I do go there sometimes, and that is when I get to know about stocking. They don't ship anymore, which is a good move to ward off speculators.

Another alternative would be to wait until Atsu (21tgif) posts them for sale on Ebay. Apparently he is able to get all the inks that are produced in Japan & they take turns being offered for sale on his Ebay site.

Sorry, I missed your post earlier.

Pen & Message doesn't sell this online anymore. Both Atsunori and WRE are located in Tokyo and the shop is Kobe, Hyogo prefecture. So not possible for them to get this unless they are going to the shop and the shop has stock when they visit.

Written 30 pages with this ink, still some ink left in the pen, maybe 10 more pages. :)

I do feel like refilling it, but I'll use Seiran next.

It would be a real shame if Pen & Message had to stop shipping completely, because of people buying their inks just to resell at a profit, rather than buying them to use. It will put a financial strain on their business, and they may have to increase the prices of them as a result.

I now firmly believe that the only way I would ever own any of their inks is if I personally visited Kobe island and went to the shop myself, and I have no plans to do that. It would seem that there aren't many 'middlemen' in Japan who like to use PayPal.

Sadly it doesn't just happen for Japanese inks though.

I wouldn't say that their business would suffer because of discontinuing shipping of their original inks. They sell quite well in the shop. Their shop is not over-dependent on the selling of these inks, and they form a small part of the revenue of the shop. They sell Kobe speciality paper and other stationary items, Also, they serve coffee, which is also some speciality coffee only available at their shop.

About your personal visit, i have nothing to say in that regard. Paypal usage isn't very prevalent here, i haven't met anyone who has paypal over here, and I don't want to set up an account to do that. It's just not useful enough.

I apologise for derailing the thread.

Not trying to weed in any anti-bashing and all that, but Paypal is very common here on the European continent and at least for all of the stores that sell inks in the UK. I've not yet had any problems with Paypal and all of the Japanese retailers I've bought from, either.

Me neither. But I was referring to 'middlemen' who don't wish to/can't accept PayPal for various reasons.
