Stained Campo Marzio Barrel

Hi All

I have a mini Campo Marzio fountain pen and the barrel is stained with Diamine Steel Blue from posting the cap etc. I have tried hand soap, shampoo, alcohol wipes, nothing will shift the marks. Are there any other possibilities? I'm anxious about damaging the enamel finish. Should I soak it overnight in soapy water or will that damage the metal? I tried asking CM but they aren't being very helpful. Many thanks!

Fill it with Noodler's Rattler Red, Sailor Do-You, Parker Quink with Solv-X or any vintage Skrip ink. Run a few fills of any of those inks (not all at the same time) and the stain will probably clear up like magic.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Amberleadavis, thanks but the ink is on the outside of the barrel. Any other possibilities? Will ammonia solution do it?

A really slick dishwashing soap. Something that makes your hands feel slippery. I really like this one:

You can try wiping down with diluted ammonia and then rinsing it off carefully.

I'd also consider the new pen cleaner from Doc Martin's. Or even the JB pen flush.
