Blackstone Daintree Green

OK, here's another review of one of the Blackstone "Colours of Australia" inks produced by JustWrite.com.au - Daintree Green. For those of you who don't know, the Daintree is a rain forestsituated in north east Queensland - the largest tropical rainforest on the Australian continent. Which means that there's green - lots of green.

 

This is actually a pretty nice green ink. I think I'd expect a rainforest to be a bit darker - but maybe I'm just showing how long ago it was that I studied Geography, Ecology and, ummm, Botany. No matter, it's a nice mid-range green ink - and it even sheens a bit in a nice broad nib (on Tomoe River paper, anyway!).

Thanks for the review and the awesome sheen pic... Daintree Green is a very nice green... I do prefer my greens darker (and murkier)... but this one is a lovely mid green. I will say is not much different than MB Irish Green.

I really like the colour of this ink, but as I said in a previous post, this ink is very very wet. And it feathers like crazy on some usually reliable papers. In several pens, it was practically unusable. But in my FC Ondoro (F) it works very well, so I just tame it now with a finer, drier nib.

Thanks for the feedback - funnily enough, I've had the opposite problem with this ink - I had flow problems with it at first, in a couple of pens, before it settled down. It now has a moderate flow in the pens I've been using it in - and no real issues with feathering, at least not on the mid-quality photocopy paper I use (Reflex).

I like this ink though because it is amazing to doodle with and the washes are fab!
