Oh boy. Thanks to a very generous member of FP, I'm fortunate to have been able to try a sample, and I think I've found a new grail ink. Amazing.

Comparison between Graphilo (similar to Tomoe River) and Rhodia. This is one of those Sailor inks that are extremely paper-dependent. I love both versions.

Graphilo is a Kobe exclusive paper, and is 80gsm. As far as I know, none of the vendors ship it outside Japan unless you are buying from Nagasawa rakuten store, which isn't the best collection.

 

About the ink, I wasn't lucky enough to buy this one. It's great, but I'll live.

migo984 gave me a sample of their Kirin (this was a year or so ago) and I really loved that one too, but as with Midori it's unobtainium alas!

 

ps. i do have a couple of bottles of tokiwa matsu inbound. Hopefully that will satisfy my green urges (eww!) for a while.

Tokiwa-matsu is a beautiful ink in its own right!
