Sailor Fuji-Musume

The last of the old Four season inks I acquired. Fuji-musume is a low saturated violet. I'm not impressed.

(on Tomoe River paper, comparing with Kobe Monet Violet. FM is like a watered down Monet Violet.)

Conclusion

I'm not impressed with these re-issued four seasons. While some of them are of a rich colour, vibrant even, like Kin-mokusei, Irori, Chu-shu and Rikyu-cha, many of these are rather pale, pastel and barely practical for writing: Yuki-akari, Fuji-musume, Sakura-mori... As I understand, these pastel colours are popular on Asian markets, but they are not to my (untypical Asian) taste.

I like the more saturated inks from the current four season inks. (By "current" I mean the ones with Yama-dori, Souten, Oku-yama, Tokiwa-matsu, etc.)

Thanks for the review.

This ink seems pretty, but looks a fair amount (to my eye, at any rate) like modern Skrip Purple. Which is a lot easier to get.

I agree, too washed out and pale looking for me too. Great review though. I loved the ink comparison you did. That tells me everything I need to know right there!
