What Twsbi You Are Using Today?

A clear Eco with a 1.1mm stub filled with Akkerman #10 Iron Gall. My first TWSBI purchased from Anderson Pens http://www.andersonpens.com at the 2017 Baltimore Pen Show.

 

So far I really enjoy using it. I did make a couple of adjustments to the nib; first I sharpened it slightly on a hard black Arkansas stone to get more line variation. Thought it wrote a bit dry so flossed between the tines with a .002" brass sheet. Seems to have helped.

 

Like it so much I'm thinking about getting a 580!

Today I am carrying Vac700 Amber M inked with Private Reserve Electric DC Blue. It is amazingly smooth and writes on finer side just perfect to my liking.

Great job on your change to the nib. It looks much more crisp them the 1.1 stub on my Eco. Which was the pen of the day for me yesterday.

Thank you. I did get the 580 1.1mm. Did the same adjustment to the 580's nib as I did to the Eco's nib.

Very pleased with it. I find the section more comfortable in my hand than the ECO (I still like the ECO). Writes very nice and holds a lot of ink. Been using it every day for two weeks and it's now just needing a refill. Build quality feels solid too. At $55, quite a bargain for what you get.

Love my Pendleton Brown 580 "B" with the "stubbized" nib.

 

Also, the broad nib still has the iridium tipping which was stubbed. Most other 1.1 or larger nibs have NO TIPPING. I will stay with the custom work by PB. It was my first stub (usually go for E to EF nibs). Bought it four years ago at the New England Pen Show and it's still one of my EDCs.

For me it's my brand new (as of Saturday) 580AL in Pink, with a B nib. I've got De Atramentis Sky Blue (also newly purchased) in it, but I fear the ink is a little wet, and might do better in a drier pen.

I probably would have gotten a stub nib, had the store I got it had one in stock. But sadly, it didn't, so I got the B nib instead, since so many of my other pens are Fs or Ms.

I actually prefer B nibs as I've found that they show the deeper characteristics of each ink color. Love shading inks in B nibs. But who am I kidding, I like them all!

I got my first TWSBI last week and I've been carrying it ever since. 580, Clear, Medium nib, using Noodler's Air Corp Blue-Black. I'm very happy with this pen.

I'm thinking about picking up a second TWSBI, and I'm trying to decide between another 580 or a Mini. I'm also toying with the idea of trying out a 1.1 mm stub nib (haven't ever used a stub). Also, I'm a bit curious about the vacuum-fill models TWSBI makes. So many choices!

I have swapped TWSBI M nib on my Vac700 Amber with Bock steel nib no. 6 in EF along with the feed. It is just awesome. Feel far better than the original one.
