Get a soft towel, and grab the nib from its sides. Pull out. It's that simple. Make sure you grab the nib from its sides, as the fins on the feed are very fragile.

Thank you for your help. The pen still has ink in it, would you wait till it is empty?

Removing nib to swap it out, or some other reason?

The Ecos write really well. But for a pen that's supposed to be easy to disassemble, they are harder than anything I've ever worked on. Otherwise I'd have one in every color and nib combo.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Can I swap the nib while the pen still has ink in it? It is less than half full.

It's likely to be a bit messy...don't do it over your white rug. ;)

I wouldn't pull out an inked pen nib. There's ink in the feed and it can go all over the place. At least do it over a sink.

I did once pull and swap a Lamy Safari nib while the pen was inked. Have plenty of tissues/towels on hand.

TWSBI of the day: my clear Eco with the 1.1 nib and a surprisingly vibrant mix of this green and that.

I’m going to do my best to wait either for the pen to run out of ink, or empty the ink, clean, then try swapping nibs. I have two to try. When I get to that point, I’ll dip in ink to see how the Knox bold oblique works. Also have a 1.1 nib for it.

TWSBI Diamond 580AL Rose for me as usual, but only my second go at ink filling this pen, this time with my brand new bottle (Christmas present from my husband!) of Diamine Scribble Purple. This time I managed to fill it even fuller than on the first fill. I really like the TWSBI’s piston filler, which helps me with my neurological illness manual dexterity problems. And the ink reservoir goes on and on forever.

Eco in transparent blossom red with a 1.1mm stub nib, filled with Iroshizuku Yama Budo. My brother gave me the Yama Budo (and 3 more inks) for Christmas.

Twsbi VAC 700R is my fist workhorse pen. I carry it everyday. One of the Best pen i ever bought. anytime soon if a new VAC 700R coming I am surely going to get it.

I have multiple ecos, those are good but not good with iron-gal ink. ink flow is not consitant. With normal ink those work perfectly.

TWSBI 580 RGII with Sailor Ink Studio 373. Ink matches the pen perfectly. 373 is no slouch either.

TWSBI 580AL Rose, used for the first time in many weeks, but started writing again with no difficulties. It’s a lovely pen. As usual it has Diamine Scribble Purple ink inside it. Very much enjoying writing with this combination tonight.

Diamond 580 Rose Gold II with a 1.1 stub nib. Just received it. The TWSBI stubs are amazingly good out of the box, with the corners rounded off so that they feel more like a broad, but have the nice line variation of a stub. It probably needs a dark reddish or brown-tone ink, but I have Ancient Copper and Oxblood already in other pens. So it got some very old PR Arabian Rose, which is quite satisfactory. I'll have to shop for some new Diamine ink for it. A really nice writer, are my Eco and 580AL.
