On Robert Oster's shop website Deep Sea is described as follows: "Deep Sea is just that. A fabulously exact likeness of ocean deep waters. Flows on darkest Blue Green, dries on distinctly deep deep sea Turquose. If there ever was an edgy colour to display on your desk, this is one to be proud to own.".

As some of you already know I dislike such hues and Deep Sea is no different - as most of them it causes some unpleasant sensation in my brain. On the other hand the ink is wet and well behaved so if you enjoy "teals" this one may really please you.

Thanks for the review. I think this is one of the very best, if not the best, Oster inks; it is rich, deep and with phenomenal shading, and some sheen. Not a sign of the dryness of a number of some of his other inks. It's a gorgeous lush colour.

Mine is a lot deeper in colour than your pics, and more blue, although definitely still a green-teal ink. I get a wonderful line of colour from my extra fine and fine nibs. It also cleans out easily.

Robert Oster has some terrific teal inks. Like Vis, I'm not a huge fan of teal inks. Even the blue-black is darn teal:

However, the performance is spectacular and Deep See and Aqua both sheen.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Thanks for the review.

This is a color I can pass on. Reviews like this are better for my wallet than the reviews showing inks I want....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Like Cyber I get a lot more blue with this ink which makes it appear an awful lot less teal than what is shown here. That may be due to my propensity for using very wet nibs.

I prefer not to be too Po-faced about colours, and so ...
